President

Myasia translates directly to "the power to make change"; her vision encompasses that completely. She knows her purpose is to create meaningful change for marginalized and disadvantaged communities. LESLIE BURNS, PMP

Vice President, Development

Leslie has produced large-scale events  and major partnerships on behalf of major nonprofits like the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. She holds a B.S. in Communication from East Carolina University with a Certificate in Event Planning from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  As a recently-Certified Project Manager, she's eager to bring fresh energy to Let's Shake the Table, Inc.

CAMERON JACKSON

Vice President, Operations & Treasury

Cameron is a Richmond-born and Charlotte-based social media marketing professional with a love of community-building. She’s been fascinated by various forms of media from an early age, especially spending hours poring over magazine pages filled with fascinating images and stories. Now, her career is dedicated to creating that same level of intrigue and connection for others, just on the internet.

TYLER GREENE, M.A.

Director, Culture

Adding power to internal communications initiatives, is North Carolina-based Tyler. She’s dreamed of working in the communications space since watching Lauren Conrad work her way into public relations on Laguna Beach. From journalism and digital media to stepping into DEI as an internal communications connoisseur, Tyler is a multidimensional specialist. 


She enjoys friendships spanning from Seattle to Atlanta and often cuddles her orange-tabby kitty, Georgia. Like her cat, she’s gracefully moved through higher ed comms to now the tech world as a Yelper.

Secretary

JOY ELMORE, M.A.

Director, Events & Programming

Bio: As a communications professional, I have worked hard to become a generalist in the field. This means I have experience in many areas, including social media, copywriting, event planning, marketing and design. 

I believe that my all-around experience and eagerness to learn in my environment has contributed to my success in this field. Also, it's nice to know you have someone who can execute a communications plan from beginning to end, including all the technical aspects.

JANAE COFIELD, M.A.

Director, PR & Communications

Janae Cofield, M.A. is a professional, specializing in Internal Communications, Public Relations, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategy. Her journey is defined by a robust track record in content creation, project management, and employee engagement. Armed with a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Northern Kentucky University, alongside minors in Black Studies and Communication Studies, she boasts a diverse skill set shaped through multifaceted roles encompassing program coordination, human resources, communication, and public relations.

 

Janae's academic foundation, practical experience, and passion for effective communication strategies equip her to steer impactful communications and further DEI initiatives within organizations. Her dedication to leveraging communication strategies for positive change and inclusive cultures underscores her commitment

CORRIE DRUMMOND

Director, Digital Marketing

I have a strong passion for digital marketing and communications. Currently, I am pursuing my graduate degree in digital marketing at Wake Forest University, and I am eager to apply my skills in a real-world setting while making a positive impact.


In my current marketing and communications role, I thrive in environments where I can combine my expertise with creativity to develop engaging digital marketing campaigns.

SHAKOYA BROWN, M.A.

Director, Memberships

Shakoya Brown is a Florida-born and Charlotte-based communications professional. Her passion for the world of communication stems from her time spent hosting and creating segments for the morning announcements in grade school. Shakoya has always used her bubbly personality, love for helping others, and knack for problem-solving to get to know others and ignite their passions. Her role as a professor has given her new meaning to advocating for diversity and inclusion in communications. She feels blessed to help shape future communications professionals and expose them to opportunities that can help them start their careers.

TOMIWA AKINTODE, M.A.

Director, Partnerships

I am a dynamic professional aspiring to leverage my diverse skill set and extensive experience in the marketing communications field. I'm also detail-oriented and experienced in understanding the most effective and impactful communicative strategies. With my master's degree, I offer a comprehensive understanding of successful communication plans and strategies to improve brand awareness and engagement.

My professional background has allowed me to consistently prove my ability to lead and create impactful communication strategies, ensuring consistent brand messaging while increasing engagement across various channels. My experience consists of social media management/analysis, content and media relations, and digital marketing optimization, which collectively equip me to oversee and optimize communication efforts. Finally, I am proficient at cultivating authentic brand partnerships through skillful public relations and precise team collaborations to achieve organizational goals. I enjoy challenges and the opportunities it provides to grow as an individual.
